Summer’s on its way and if you’re a homeowner with a pool, you can keep swimmin’ if you stay diligent with just a little maintenance all season long.
- Skim debris in the pool and clean out strainer baskets. The less debris in both means better circulation and less of a chlorine demand.
- Vacuum the pool every week to assist in reducing the amount of chemicals you need to add to the water.
- Along with the above two tips, brushing the walls and tile can help minimize algae and calcium buildups.
- Clean the filter! Be sure to follow manufacturer’s exact specifications and timing, too.
- Check and maintain water levels. With regular use and in cases of intense heat, levels can decrease and if too low, can actually damage the pump.
- Check regularly for leaks, cracks or other damage from use and age of equipment.
I hope that everything goes swimmingly for you this summer!
